Safeguarding Policy

BelfastIT is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and protective environment for all individuals involved in our activities. This includes, but is not limited to, children, young people, and adults at risk. We take seriously our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all individuals, preventing abuse, neglect, or harm.

Purpose: The purpose of this Safeguarding Policy is to:

  1. Clearly communicate our commitment to safeguarding.
  2. Define the principles and procedures for identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns.
  3. Establish a framework for creating a safe and secure environment for all individuals.

Scope: This policy applies to all individuals involved in BelfastIT, including employees, volunteers, contractors, and anyone engaged in activities on behalf of the organization. It encompasses all settings where our activities take place.

Principles:

  1. Prevention: We will take proactive measures to prevent abuse, neglect, and harm.
  2. Protection: We will take prompt and appropriate action to protect individuals at risk.
  3. Participation: We will involve individuals and, where appropriate, their families in decisions that affect them.
  4. Partnership: We will work collaboratively with relevant agencies to promote the welfare of individuals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. All individuals associated with BelfastIT have a responsibility to be vigilant and report any safeguarding concerns.
  2. Human resources are responsible for overseeing and implementing the Safeguarding Policy.

Procedures:

  1. Identification of Concerns: All concerns regarding the safety or well-being of an individual should be reported to the designated point of contact.
  2. Recording and Reporting: All safeguarding concerns will be recorded promptly and reported to the appropriate authorities, as required by law.
  3. Confidentiality: Information regarding safeguarding concerns will be treated confidentially, shared only with those who need to know, and in line with legal obligations.

Training and Awareness: BelfastIT will provide appropriate training and resources to ensure that all individuals associated with the organization are aware of the Safeguarding Policy, signs of abuse, and their responsibilities.

Review: This Safeguarding Policy will be reviewed annually or as needed to ensure its continued effectiveness, compliance with legal requirements, and relevance to organizational activities.

Approval: This Safeguarding Policy has been approved by Callum Carville on 14/11/2022.
